Congratulations to Sandy Lake Performers!

Congratulations to the students and parents that performed and worked at the Sandy Lake Music Festival this past weekend!  Beginning, Concert and Symphonic Bands all performed for a panel of judges and each band came away with a 1st division trophy and a 1st division rating from every judge.

Our judges were:

Ray Lichtenwalter - retired Director of Bands for University of Texas at Arlington
Dr. Ken Van Winkle - President of New Mexico State University-Alamogordo and former Director of Bands for New Mexico State University
Col. Jay Brewer - Director of Texas A&M "Fighting Texas Aggie Band"

This week and this month

May 1st - Tuesday

• 5:00 PM - Symphonic Band Performance at Walker Auditorium - wear band shirt and school pants

• 6:00 PM - 8th graders and Parents at WT White HS for High School Band meeting and orientation

May 5th - Saturday - Symphonic Band performance at University of North Texas

• 8:00 AM - Meet at Walker Band Hall and pack up
• 8:30  - Bus departs for Denton
• 9:30  - Arrive, unload, line up
• 10:00- Warm Up
• 10:30 - Performance
• 11:00 - Pack up
• Tour of campus and Lunch
• 3:00 - Return to Walker

May 9-11 - End of Year playing exams (in class)
May 22 - End of Year concert
May 23 - turn in all school instruments
May 29 - 6/1 - Check out instruments for summer and '18-'19  school year
June 11 - 16   Dallas Winds Summer Band Camp - performance at the Meyerson
