Congratulations and Thank you!

Thank you to all the parents and students who helped out with the Cake Walk!   Thank you for donated cakes and other baked goods.  Thank you for helping with set up and clean up.  Thank you for attending and having a great time at the Fall Festival.


Congratulations to the students who earned a position in the All-City Honor band this year.  Eight students from Walker made the band and participated this weekend.  Students got to work with two fabulous clinicians, Christine Cumberlidge and William Owens.  Both groups, Symphonic and Honor Band, put on fantastic performances.  Those students are:

Emmanuel Sandoval - trumpet
Fajr Hussain - French Horn
Jason Garcia - Tuba
Alma Balimaka - Flute
Madissen McClellan - Flute
Oscar Lopez - French Horn
Cesar Caceres - Euphonium
Aylin Hernandez - Clarinet

New Performance and rehearsal schedule this week!

We have been specifically requested to perform this Thursday at the Walker Preview night by our Principal.  What an honor!  This will be an interactive rehearsal and performance!  Parents are invited to come sit in the band with their student and learn to play an instrument.  How fun!

So this week's schedule is a little different than usual.  Please take note!

Monday - 8:00 - Band Hall open for practice
3:45 - No after school practice - Faculty Meeting

Tuesday - 8:00 - Band Hall open for practice
3:45 - 4:30 - Flute section practice - shortened

Wednesday - 8:00 - Band Hall open for practice
3:45 - 4:45 - Brass and percussion section rehearsal

Thursday - 8:00 - Band Hall open for practice
3:45 - Student rehearsal begins - parents invited to attend - Honor Band in the Auditorium, Symphonic Band in Band Hall
5:00 - Interactive rehearsal begins - parents invited to sit in with their student - Honor Band in Band Hall - Symphonic Band in Auditorium
6:00 Orchestra on stage
6:30 - Walker Band preview performance in the Auditorium
6:45 - dismissed

Friday - 8:00 - Band Hall open for practice
3:45 - No after school practice - Have a great weekend!
