All-City Week and Parent/Teacher conferences

The Walker Band will be taking part in the DISD all-City Honor Band this week.  Some activities will take place at Walker MS while full band rehearsals and the concert will take place at Molina HS.

• Wednesday - Percussion sectionals for All City Concert and Symphonic Bands - at Walker MS
• Thursday -     Directors' Band rehearsal, Mr. Flemons conducting - at Molina HS
• Friday -         MS and HS honor bands rehearsal - at Molina HS
• Rehearsal 5PM - 9PM
• Saturday -     MS and HS honor bands rehearsal and Concert - at Molina HS - 
• Rehearsal 9 AM
• Concert at 6 PM

Selection to the All-City Honor Band is earned by audition.  This year a record number of Walker students (7) earned a position in either the All-City Concert or Symphonic Band.  Congratulations to the following students!

Busy January - All City Band

Welcome Band Family!  January is already half over with.  Can you believe it?  The first big event on our calendar is the All-City Clinic and Concert.  Students who auditioned and were chosen will participate and perform Friday and Saturday, January 27 and 28.  All rehearsals and performances are at Molina High School.

Friday Rehearsal 5 PM - 9PM and Saturday is all day 8 AM to 8PM.  A schedule will be given to students next week.

 

Pass off sheets

Pass of sheets will be given to all band students.  This is a list of all playing tests that the student will be responsible for during the six weeks.  Students already have their first assignments and should be working on them.

Sectionals

Section rehearsals for Concert and Symphonic band students have begun for the semester.  All sectionals are from 3:45 to 4:45 after school.  Sectional attendance is required to qualify for field trips.  The schedule is:

Monday - Flutes and Clarinets
Tuesday - Trumpets
Wednesday - Saxophone, French Horn, Percussion
Thursday - Low Brass
