Band Contests and Performances
○ March 21 - Thursday - 6:00 - UIL Preview Concert - Walker Auditorium○ March 26 - Symphonic Band Non-Varsity UIL
○ April 2 - Honor Band Varsity UIL
● What you need to do in order to get to go on the trips
○ Pass-off all sections of your contest music with a Ist division○ Maintain an A average in Band and Pass all classes with a 70 or higher
○ Have excellent behavior in all classes and hallways - no referrals
● What you need on the trip
○ Your Music○ Your instrument
○ Your supplies - reeds, valve oil, sticks, etc…
○ Concert Black dress clothes
■ All Black or Black and Grey dress clothes
● Gentlemen - Shoes, socks, dress pants, dress shirt must all be black. You may also wear a tie and dress jacket but it is not required.
● Ladies - Black dress pants or skirt and blouse, dress shoes.
○ If wearing a skirt - skirts must be longer than knee length and hose or tights are required
Symphonic Band Schedule - UIL Performance - March 26 - Cedar Hill High School
12:00 - Load bus - depart from Walker1:30 - Arrive at Cedar Hill High School
2:10 - Official Warm Up
2:35 - Stage Performance
3:00 - Sight Reading Performance
3:30 - Load Bus
4:00 - Lunch stop - Bring $7+ for CC’s pizza
5:00 - Depart
5:30 - Arrive at Walker - dismissed - Have your own transportation to go home
Honor Band Schedule - UIL Performance - April 2 - Red Oak High School
7:30 AM - Warm up in Walker Band Hall
8:00 AM - Depart for Contest
9:00 AM - Arrive Red Oak HS, check in, unload equipment
10:00 AM - Official Warm Up begins
10:30 AM - Stage Performance
11:00 AM - Sight Reading Performance
11:30 AM - Pack and Load bus
12 Noon - Lunch stop - bring $ for fast food or bring your own lunch
1:00 PM - Depart for Walker
2:00 PM - Arrive at Walker
