This Week in Band - One of the most important weeks of the year

This Week 10/29 thru 11/3      All-City Auditions, Clinic and Concert, and WT White parade, Walker Fall Festival

This is one of the busiest and most important weeks of the year for the Walker Band.  In addition this week is complicated by the fact that students are taking tests (Common Assessments) and will not be in their 3rd or 4th period band classes.  Therefore, Varsity band will practice after school Tuesday and Wednesday to make up the lost time and prepare for the parade. 

Here are the critical days and what happens on each day.

Monday 

• We will host the District Middle schools Monday evening for All City Honor Band Auditions
• Selected Walker students will be auditioning.   Click on the schedule tab to see details.

Tuesday

• Parade practice

Wednesday

• Parade Practice

Thursday

• Select Varsity and Non-Varsity students will march in the WT White Parade.  They will receive a schedule to bring home Tuesday
• Transportation to WT White HS is provided.  Parents will pick up their students at WT White HS at 5:00.  We will not be returning to Walker.

Friday

• Students that qualified for All-City Honor Band will travel to Garcia Middle School for rehearsal in the evening.
• Parent volunteers will help out with the Walker Fall Festival.  Bring cakes and other baked goods for the cake walk, and cook and serve hot dogs for our concession stand.  

Saturday

• Students that qualified for All-City Honor Band will travel to Garcia Middle School for rehearsal in the morning.  Rehearsal lasts all day and students will perform in concert in the evening.
