 All City Band Week and After school practices

We have 8 students who earned the honor of being selected for the DISD All-City Honor Band.  Please join me in congratulating these District All-Stars!

Bryan Morales - Trumpet

They will all participate in the All-City Honor Band Clinic and Concert this weekend at Molina High School.  The concert is Saturday at 6 PM and is free.  Please attend if you are able.

All-City Schedule 

Friday 1/26/18
4:00 PM - Meet in the band room and catch the bus for Molina HS(bring $ for snacks/supper)
5:00 - Rehearsal begins
9:00 - Rehearsal concludes - catch the bus back to Walker
9:45 - Arrive at Walker - pick up your student by the band room (south east parking lot)
Saturday 1/27/18
8:00 AM - Load bus and depart for Molina HS
9:00 -  Rehearsal begins
12:00 - Lunch time (bring $ for lunch)
1:30 - rehearsal begins
4:30 - break
6:00 - Concert Begins

After the concert concludes parents may take students home directly or pick them up at Walker

Before and after school practice schedule for Spring semester

Practice outside of class is essential to student progress and our band's performance.  Students will receive credit toward performance qualification and section ranking by participating in extra practice sessions.  We ask all students to practice outside of class 20-30 minutes per day 5 days per week.  The band hall is open the following times each week:

• Mondays 
• 7:45 AM Open practice
• 3:45 - 4:45 PM Open practice
• Tuesdays
• 7:45 AM Open practice
• 3:45-4:45 PM Required for Woodwinds (Concert and Symphonic)  Open practice for all other Band Members 
• Wednesdays
• No Morning practice - Teacher meeting
• 3:45 - 4:45 PM Required for Percussion (Concert and Symphonic)  Open practice for all other band members
• Thursdays
• 7:45 AM Open practice
• 3:45 - 4:45 PM Required for Brass (Concert and Symphonic)  Open practice for all other band members
• Fridays
• 7:45 AM Open practice
• 3:45 - 4:45 PM Open practice
