Walker Band to host Dallas ISD All-City Band Auditions
Monday, Nov. 6, all the Middle School band programs in the District will come to Walker as we host the auditions for All-City Honor band again this year. Here are the details:- Bands will begin arriving between 4:00 and 5:00 PM
- Judges will have a directors meeting in the Library at 5:30 PM
- Auditions begin at 6:00 PM
- This would be an excellent opportunity for our Walker Band Boosters to operate a concession stand.
- Help is needed setting up rooms right after school is out. We use most of the rooms on the first floor for audition rooms
Fall Festival this Friday Nov. 3. Please volunteer for.....
- The band Cake Walk. Please donate a cake or a package of cookies or brownies.
- The band booster parents will host a Concession Stand. Please volunteer to help.
This week in Band...
- Beginners should be able to demonstrate their 5 note scale vocabulary and Exercise #'s 14, 17, and 18 from page 6 in the Essential Elements book. Moving forward to page 7.
- Concert Band is preparing music for our December Concert and should be able to demonstrate the music they've learned so far
- Symphonic Band is preparing their All-City music and scales this week and should be able to demonstrate it by Friday. We are also sight reading new music for the December concert.

- 3:45 Flute Sectional and individual practice time for any other
