This Week in Band!
Advanced band to perform Tuesday, Sept 22The Advanced band 7th and 8th grade students will perform at the Walker football game this coming Tuesday. Here is the schedule:
3:45 - Meet in the bandroom for rehearsal
4:30 - Eat snack, pack up, load busses
5:30 - busses leave Walker for Loos Stadium
6:00 - Game begins
8:00 - Load busses to return to Walker
8:30 - Arrive at Walker band hall. - Have your ride waiting
Important Information!!!
- Students will wear their band t-shirt and school pants or shorts for the performance
- Students can bring $5 for pizza or bring their own food for snack time
- Students must be picked up in the band room parking lot (south east corner of the school).
Beginning Band
Beginning Band Students have received instruments and are being assigned lockers this week. Students will start bringing instruments home after they complete the following:
- Turn in their instrument form signed by a parent
- Turn in their instrument fee
- Demonstrate they are able to assemble, disassemble and care for the maintenance of the instrument
- Demonstrate they can play the first five notes on the instrument with a clear, open, focused, well supported characteristic sound.
