Fundraiser orders due Friday 11/20

Tomorrow, Friday 11/20 is the last day to turn in orders for the fundraiser.  We must turn in the orders tomorrow evening in order to get the merchandise in time to deliver before the Christmas holiday.

Congratulations! to all who auditioned for All-city Honor Band

Congratulations!

There were several students from Walker who auditioned for the All-City Honor Band this evening.  I am very proud of them!  There are 34 Middle Schools in DISD.  These students won top placements over several hundred other students who play the same instrument they play. 
Here are the names of those who auditioned and their placements.

Samantha Aquino - French Horn - 6th Chair in the District -  All-City Honor Band
Nikan Askari -       Percussion  - 9th Chair in the District - All-City Honor Band
Brandon Min -       Alto Sax - 6th Chair in the District - Alternate

Walker Fall Festival
The band will host two booths.  A Cake Walk and a concession stand.  We need parent volunteers to work at the concession stand.  We need all band families to donate a cake or a dozen cupcakes for prizes for the Cake Walk.  Please send the cake with your student on Thursday or Friday.  To help out at the concession stand please contact Stella Castillo at 214-564-8156.

All-city Band Auditions - Hosted here at Walker
Advanced band students who qualified will be auditioning for the All-City Honor band this evening here at Walker.  Students should arrive by 5:30PM.  Auditions begin at 6:00PM.  Be on time.
