Sandy Lake! Tomorrow - Saturday 4/24


It's time to Shine!  The sun should be out tomorrow.  We're looking forward to a beautiful day.  Parents, please come join us for a fun day in the park.

Schedule

8:00 AM - Morning Meeting and rehearsal - ALL STUDENTS must attend
8:30 AM - Load bus and depart from Walker
9:00 AM - Arrive at Sandy Lake Park - Unload bus, prepare for performances
9:40 AM - Beginning Band Warm Up and Performance
11:00 AM - Symphonic Band Warm up and Performance
11:30 AM - Honor Band Warm up and Performance
12:00 Noon - Lunch is served at our pavilion - see details below
12:30 - 3:00 - Time to play in the park
3:30 PM - Busses depart for Walker
4:00 PM - Students picked up at Walker

Dress:  Students should wear their band T-Shirt with school appropriate blue jeans or school pants or school shorts

Lunch:  Students may bring $5.00 to purchase a hamburger combo or hot dog combo from the band boosters.  Students my bring their own sack lunch if they prefer or buy food from the park concession

Pick Up:  If a student is to be picked up at the Park the parent or guardian must check their student out in person with a director.

Congratulations Band!

Congratulations Walker Band! for  EXCELLENT ratings in Concert and Sight Reading at UIL.  Way to go Band!  Let's keep working hard toward our next performance.

Just a quick email to extend my congratulations to Mr. Flemons, Mr. Osborne and the Walker Middle School Band for bringing home EXCELLENT ratings in UIL Concert & Sight Reading!  This is a great honor and represents the fantastic teaching of the staff, the hard work of the students, and the support of the campus administration. Your students were EXCELLENT ambassadors for the tremendous work going on at Walker Middle School and within the Dallas ISD Visual & Performing Arts programs.

UIL Contest Week at Cedar Hill High School

UIL week - Contest at Cedar Hill High School

Symphonic band  travels to UIL Tuesday. Honor band travels to UIL Wednesday.   Students should wear dress black.  Girls, black and/or gray dress or pants outfit.  Boys, black and/or gray pants and shirt. Accessories can be blue as an accent color. All students should bring $6 for lunch at CiCi's pizza the day of the contest.

Rehearsal schedule

Rehearsal schedule for this week and next.

It's been a busy week full of STAAR testing.  With very little time left until UIL regionals our band needs all the rehearsal we can get.  So here is the schedule.

Thursday
8 AM - 8:30 rehearsal
4PM - 6 PM rehearsal
6PM - 8pm. Band Movie night ( not required) students can bring $5 for pizza and we'll watch a movie. Have your ride here to pick you up by 8:00.

Friday
8am - 8:30 rehearsal

Monday
8am - 8:30 rehearsal

Tuesday
Symphonic band travels to UIL

WEDNESDAY
Honor band travels to UIL
