Performance Cancelled!

The band will not be performing tonight at Open House.  My wife has been admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery and I will not be at school today or tonight.  All students should catch the bus home and not stay after school.

Special Performance for Open House!  

The Walker Beginning and Advanced Bands have been asked to perform Thursday evening at the Open House.  We will be providing a short performance for students and parents of our feeder elementary schools.

This is not a required performance and only a select group of students were invited to perform. If your student was invited they were given an information sheet inviting them to perform.

Students will report to the Band Room at 6:00 PM to set up.  The performance begins at 6:30 and will conclude at 7:15.  

Students should wear their band T-Shirt and Khaki school pants.  Pick your students up at 7:30 at the conclusion of the performance.

I want to say thank you to all the parents who helped this past week with the All-City Audition night and Friday night at the Fall Festival.  You all did a fantastic job!  I am very humbled and grateful to have such a great group of parents supporting our students.  Thank you parents!

• Practicing lessons 5 - 14
• Attending morning practices Tuesday through Friday starting at 8:00 AM
• Entering their homework on www.charmsoffice.com  

Advanced Students should be

• Practicing Assigned music and scales
• Attending morning practices Wednesday through Friday starting at 8:00 AM
• Entering their homework weekly on www.charmsoffice.com

Fall Festival - Friday Nov 8

Fall Festival Time!

Tomorrow - Friday Nov 8 starting at 5 PM, is the E.D. Walker annual Fall Festival!

• The Band Boosters are sponsoring a Concession Stand and a Cake Walk.

• Volunteers are needed to work at both areas.

• Cakes, cookies, cupcakes, brownies and pies are needed to give away as prized in the Cake Walk!

• Please consider donating a cake and volunteering at one of our booths!

Congratulations to four E.D. Walker Band students who were names to the All-City Band this evening.

Zachary Revell - 5th chair trumpet
Miguel Estrada - 1st Alternate percussion
Darrell Kennedy - 2nd Alternate percussion

I am very proud of all the students who auditioned tonight and put in the work to prepare for these auditions.
